Senior Business Systems Analyst โ€“ Location & Schedule

Location: Farmington Hills office. Hybrid arrangement: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Overview

Senior Business Systems Analyst will be a strategic partner in shaping and delivering innovative business solutions, leveraging deep expertise in analysis, requirements gathering, testing, and stakeholder engagement. They will lead complex initiatives, mentor junior analysts, and drive process optimization across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead endโ€‘toโ€‘end analysis of complex business processes, systems, and data to identify improvement opportunities and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Develop comprehensive requirements documentation, including business, functional specifications, process flows, data mapping, workflows, procedures, and system controls.
  • Analyze and resolve highโ€‘level issues, including root cause analysis, and advise on effective solutions.
  • Drive organizational change by adopting new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and business impact.
  • Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, and cases; lead system and user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet requirements.
  • Act as liaison among business units, technical teams, and insurance industry experts to facilitate clear communication and understanding of system capabilities.
  • Analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and improve operations to solve business problems.
  • Mentor and coach team members, fostering professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Prepare training materials and conduct training on new or updated systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, information systems, related field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • 5 years of professional experience in business analysis, leading complex, enterpriseโ€‘level projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, SQL, testing tools, and data analysis software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong dataโ€‘driven decisionโ€‘making skills, including process modeling, data mapping, and system integrations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong ability to handle competing priorities and deliver results in a dynamic, fastโ€‘paced environment.
  • Insurance industry knowledge preferred.
  • Agile methodologies experience, especially SAFe, preferred.
  • Certifications such as CBAP, PMIโ€‘PBA strongly preferred.
