Job Title : Risk Systems Analyst / Developer, Counterparty Risk, RISK Systems

The scope of the RISK function is:

  • Market and Liquidity risks: covering the CIB capital markets activities, ALM Treasury as well as the IPS Business Units,
  • Counterparty risks: covering all counterparty risks arising from derivative and repo transactions,
  • Credit risks: credit analysis and approval for Financial Institutions Sovereigns, Wealth Management clients and other IPS private clients


The RISK function contributes to the definition of the Group's risk appetite, its risk decision making process and the optimisation of capital allocation to support the development of the Operating Divisions.
The RISK Systems team is part of RISK Global Services, whose mission includes providing the bank with a comprehensive capital markets risk system used to calculate market and counterparty risk capital figures using advanced methods and to support the needs of users for risk analysis, risk reporting and the credit process.
Job
As a Risk Systems Analyst / Developer your responsibilities will include:

  • Understand various counterparty metrics, both the methodology and operational production of counterparty metrics, to investigate and assess issues and propose solutions.
  • To provide explanation and support to the Risk Function analysts and business lines about risk changes and the calculation methodologies.
  • Monitoring of the risks figures provided by the counterparty risk system
  • Implement solutions in the Risk Systems python framework
  • Understand and analyse the business line's needs in relation to Counterparty Risk, with the aim of developing the appropriate and sustainable solutions that are consistent with the entity's strategic plan and the associated portfolio of requests.
  • Act as the contact person within the initiative or maintenance teams and for the business line in relation to data and functional aspects.


Core accountabilities of role
Manages relationships between Risk Systems and users at all levels of the organisation to ensure that a high-quality integrated service is provided for Counterparty Risk topics
Liaise with users to capture business requirements. Manage small to medium sized projects. Delivers projects within quality, time and budget constraints.
Deliver small to medium solutions for clients in the Risk Systems python environment.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
Strong prior experience of using complex and diverse IT systems. Results orientated with a clear understanding of how the results impact the business counterparts.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate technical concepts and provide specialist guidance and advice to others.
Experience in python and SQL or strong desire to learn.
Proven commercial and communication / relationship management skills. Ability to liaise with junior and senior stakeholders to act as bridging point.
