SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.
Job Description Summary:
The System Integrator will support project integration of remote data systems into the SOLV Energy Operations and Control Center and contribute to achievable backend development work. This role includes implementation duties, frequent communication with project stakeholders, establishment of nightly data transfer process, and creation and maintenance of codebase within SOLV.
This role is based full-time in our office in Bend, OR. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
Job Description:

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Support project integrations for our enterprise SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) platform
  • Read and interpret electrical, racking, and meteorological station drawings and substation one-line diagrams to extract SOLV maintained device naming conventions
  • Identify individual weather sensors, tracker motors, and wind sensors from drawing package and incorporate into data build out
  • Read and interpret points list and OPC data to integrate data into the SOLV monitoring platform and help identify potential issues with them
  • Use plant controls fundamentals to capture all data for integration
  • Use provided tools, code, and scripts within the SCADA platform to map site data within the SOLV development environment, leveraging platform features to bridge gaps in the toolset
  • Apply object-oriented programing practices to create, test, maintain, and utilize scripts using python to aid in integration process
  • Perform code reviews of work produced by more junior system integrators
  • Interact with development environment's native database to ensure proper data mapping and run basic queries
  • Provide technical support for network and equipment configurations
  • Map data from solar and battery resources
  • Establish and verify nightly data backfill transfers
  • Update and amend procedural documents and knowledgebase for data integration
  • Innovate the integration process with new documents and scripts and provide team with feedback on existing tools and processes
  • Coordinate closely with customers, SCADA engineers, and field technicians for on-site commissioning and integration support and updates
  • Create a field equipment list based on integration for use in maintenance tracking
  • Monitor SCADA platform resource utilization and logs and is mindful of system impact when performing work
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting complex site monitoring systems
  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization
  • Assist in training more junior integrators
  • Update project management tools and leadership appropriately during course of tasks

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
  • 2 years of power industry experience, or BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Renewable Systems or other relevant experience
  • Ability to work with Owner and EPC sub-contractors and field personnel
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Skills or Experience:
  • Experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation
  • Experience with basic PV solar monitoring functions and designs a plus
  • Understanding of industrial automation protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA and DA)
  • Understanding diagrams and schematics including but not limited to, power systems, networking, control, electrical, mechanical and civil layouts
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • SCADA platform experience
