BFC, as part of the Bauer construction division, is a leader in the execution of complex excavation pits, ground improvement, deep foundations, and vertical seals, utilizing the most up to date equipment and installation techniques. Bauer Foundation Corp. provides all types of foundation solutions and services for industrial, commercial, residential, and governmental construction projects. Bauer Foundation Corp. promotes Bauer services and technology throughout the entire United States.


Bauer Foundation Corp. is seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preparing take offs, schedules and cost estimates across a variety of contract types, including lump sum, time and materials, and other delivery methods.

Requirements:

Reports to: Estimating Manager

Position: Full Time

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM

Location: Odessa, FL (occasional travel is required to attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, conferences, etc.)


Job Summary:

The Junior Estimator will review bid specifications and drawings to develop a thorough understanding of project requirements and ensure accurate, competitive proposals.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

None


Duties and Responsibilities:

This position also requires proactive and consistent follow-up with clients to gather feedback on submitted proposals and support ongoing business development efforts. The Junior Estimator will collaborate closely with internal teams throughout all phases of the bidding process. Exposure to scheduling software, such as Primavera, is considered a strong plus.


Requirements:

  • Experience in deep foundations or heavy civil works is a plus.
  • Some project estimator skills that include performing basic engineering calculations, being familiar with engineering terminology and effectively communicate with Engineers, Project Managers, and vendors is a plus.

  • Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and specifications
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal structure while exercising sound judgment.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook).
  • Preferred knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Preferred knowledge of Primavera P6 / MS Project
  • Assist the team on other relevant submittals and documents.
  • Generate dashboards, and status reports for management.
  • Any other relevant duties assigned by the Estimating Manager.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in construction management or engineering
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Preferred related Estimating experience.
