Job Summary:

You will work closely with an existing team working on expanding Disney's internal capability set. Leveraging software engineering principles and cloud infrastructure, you will build robust, extensible services that drive autonomous workflows at scale.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Write and Maintain Software Solutions: Design, write, test, and deploy high-quality code to develop reliable, maintainable data solutions.

  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with platform engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions effectively support business goals and content strategies.

  • Production Support: Monitor and optimize production systems, ensuring platform stability, performance, and uptime.

  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in data engineering or architecture.

  • Proven track record of building and supporting production data pipelines and data platforms.

  • Extensive experience with event streaming systems (e.g., Kafka) and data store technologies like Snowflake and Databricks.

  • Proficiency with ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration tools such as AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and Apache Airflow.

  • Deep understanding of data modeling concepts and robust SQL development.

  • Expertise in designing scalable, cost-effective cloud architecture and infrastructure.

  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines.

  • Full-lifecycle application development experience, including unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies in a collaborative team environment.

  • Excellent oral, written, and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, or managed data services)

  • Knowledge of streaming and batch data processing frameworks

  • Strong understanding of data quality, data governance, and observability practices

  • Experience supporting analytics, reporting, or downstream application use cases at scale

  • Exposure to integrating AI driven solutions into production systems

  • Previous work experience in media or entertainment technology, particularly in content distribution and media supply chain.
