The SAS Content Assessment team is seeking a Software Developer (Emerging Careers). In this role, you will join a team dedicated to helping SAS 9 and SAS Viya 3 customers evaluate their current environments and plan their migration to SAS Viya, our premier cloud platform. The team conducts comprehensive assessments of customer systems, providing clear recommendations, migration readiness insights, and a detailed understanding of existing SAS 9 and SAS Viya 3 content usage.
As a Software Developer (Emerging Careers), you will:
  • Develop and support robust quality engineering solutions at every layer of the software development life cycle.
  • Create and maintain the highest quality of command-line applications, using modern development features, and provide key data points to support metrics-based decision making.
  • Create and maintain the highest quality of SAS Visual Analytics reports and provide key data points to support metrics-based decision making.
  • Capitalize upon your creativity by developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Produce key data that illustrates the quality of applications and develop insight that drives the direction of quality engineering.
  • Work collaboratively with development, product, operations, and support peers to encourage quality.
  • Challenge the status quo every day and never stop improving quality engineering practices.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
  • 2 years of software development experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java or Golang
  • Familiarity with Rest APIs.
  • Proficient with source control management techniques (Git) including branching, code review, and merging.
  • Familiarity with at least one public cloud interface: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools such as: Jenkins, Gradle, etc.
  • Comfortable working with and developing command-line driven software.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
