Job description

Cepeda is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Software Test Engineer to join our team onsite at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center (DEVCOM AvMC) at Redstone Arsenal. In this role, you will support the evaluation and verification of critical defense software systems. You will collaborate with senior engineers to execute test plans, identify software defects, and ensure that system performance aligns with rigid military specifications.

Software Tester Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and execute test cases for web applications, APIs, and supporting database components
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing following Agile software development principles
  • Document test results, track defects, and verify resolution through collaboration with developers
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvement
  • Validate integration with Microsoft SQL databases and verify data integrity across systems
  • Support test automation initiatives where applicable
Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a recognized engineering discipline or Computer Science; 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • 1-3 years of relevant experienceClearance Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance
