Trucking Account Manager

Position Summary:

The primary function of this role is to support the needs of our Trucking clients and Producers. This includes quoting new and renewal business, overseeing a book of business, and answering general inquiries from Producers, Insureds, or Jr. Account Managers. Their strong interpersonal skills, customer-oriented approach, and industry knowledge will contribute to building successful partnerships and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Quoting and Marketing

  • Review and market new and renewal submissions with proper documentation.
  • Create carrier-specific applications as needed.
  • Procure quotes from underwriters and online quoting platforms and review all quotes for accuracy.
  • Monitor and market non-renewals and midterm cancellations.

Account and Renewal Management

  • Create and review new or renewal finance agreements.
  • Create and send binding requests to the appropriate underwriter or carrier.
  • Create or review proposals and coverage summaries with Producers.
  • Review expiration reports for assigned book of business and ensure renewals are monitored.

Growth and Cross-Selling Opportunities

  • Identify opportunities to add new business to existing clients or cross-sell other lines.
  • Quote and add additional lines of business as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial lines insurance account management experience, preferably in trucking insurance
  • Active Property & Casualty License required in the state of business
  • Willingness to obtain the STAR and/or TRIP designation (preferably both)
  • Ability to read and analyze Cab and Safer reports to determine the best market for the risk
  • Understanding of how to use AM Best website (carrier/market ratings)
  • Understanding of loss data/historical worksheets
  • Understanding of how to review financial documents such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Applied Epic highly desired; will consider other agency management systems
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and stay focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimal travel to various locations may be required
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check as permitted by law
