Position Summary
The Senior Research Assistant will support the design, execution, management, and evaluation of research projects at the Morehouse School of Medicine Prevention Research Center. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data while collaborating with research teams, faculty, and students. The Senior Research Assistant will also assist in the preparation of publications, reports, presentations, and grant proposals. The Senior Research Assistant will be responsible for scheduling and hosting meetings to identify research project evaluation needs, provide progress updates, and to communicate research or evaluation findings.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in public health or related health or social sciences field
Experience:
• 4+ years of experience conducting quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method data analyses.
• Experience in data collection, analysis, and report writing
• Experience with data collection and statistical software (e.g., Qualtrics, REDcap, SPSS)
• Experience or strong interest in community-based research and evaluation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree is preferred.
• Relevant research certifications (e.g., CITI, HIPAA, etc.) are a plus.
Skills:

Research Support:
• Assist in the design, execution, and management of research projects, ensuring alignment with study protocols.
• Assist with developing data collection instruments.
• Collect, process, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
• Conduct statistical analysis and interpret experimental data using software such as SPSS, R, or SAS.
• Collaborate with team members on the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for publication or conferences.
Project Management:
• Coordinate project timelines and ensure milestones are met.
• Maintain detailed and organized records of experiments, data, and research activities.
• Ensure compliance with institutional, federal, and ethical guidelines for research.
• Support the research team with the implementation of study activities.

Grant and Funding Support:
• Assist with the preparation and submission of grant proposals and reports.
• Monitor budget expenditures and assist in managing project funds.
Mentorship:

Administrative Duties:
• Oversee the maintenance of laboratory equipment and research tools.
