Job description

Parkview Health is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Junior Analyst to join our fast-growing Strategic Finance team. This role supports financial planning, operational analysis, and strategic initiatives that advance high-quality, accessible patient care while ensuring responsible stewardship of financial resources within a nonprofit healthcare system dedicated to serving its patients and communities. The Junior Analyst will contribute to initiatives that balance financial sustainability with Parkview’s mission of improving community health outcomes, expanding access to care, and supporting long-term investments in patients, caregivers, and local communities.

The ideal candidate is analytically rigorous, intellectually curious, and motivated by the intersection of finance, healthcare strategy, and social impact. Successful candidates will demonstrate an understanding of how a nonprofit healthcare organization reinvests operating performance into patient care services, community benefit programs, innovation, and operational excellence to fulfill its mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate service line performance, patient volumes, reimbursement, and cost structures
  • Analyze financial, clinical, and operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities aligned with organizational mission and sustainability
  • Assist in evaluating strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, program expansions, community health investments, and capital projects
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, including KPIs such as operating margin, cost per case, length of stay, and payer mix
  • Support initiatives related to cost containment, revenue cycle optimization, and value-based care delivery
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing community benefit spending and other non-profit performance metrics
  • Conduct market and regulatory research, including changes in reimbursement policies and healthcare legislation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical leadership, operations, and population health
  • Contribute to improving financial reporting processes, data governance, and transparency
  • Support financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across hospitals, service lines, and ambulatory operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships included) in finance, consulting, healthcare analytics, or non-profit organizations
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, data analysis, large datasets)
  • Understanding of financial statements and basic accounting principles
  • Exposure to healthcare reimbursement models (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers) is a plus
  • Familiarity with non-profit financial concepts (e.g., operating margin vs. mission reinvestment) is a plus

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to synthesize complex financial and operational data into clear insights
  • Effective communication skills, especially with non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare and community impact

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
  • Mission-driven work that directly supports patient care and community health
  • The role also offers significant long-term growth opportunities within a collaborative and mission-driven healthcare organization. The Analyst will have the opportunity to work closely with leaders and teams across multiple departments — including finance, operations, clinical services, strategy, and administration — gaining broad exposure to how decisions are made across a complex nonprofit health system. This cross-functional experience will help develop strong business partnership, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills while building a comprehensive understanding of healthcare operations and financial management.
  • Parkview Health is committed to investing in employee development through mentorship, hands-on learning, and exposure to high-impact initiatives that support both organizational sustainability and community health outcomes. Successful candidates will be positioned for continued career advancement within strategic finance and other leadership pathways across the organization.
  • A collaborative, value-driven culture focused on service and impact
