Job description

Williams Distributing is looking for a hard-working and motivated individual to join their team as a Jr. Purchaser in their Kitchen & Bath Division. The ideal candidate will be driven, hard-working, and reliable. Candidates must have outstanding interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, be detailed oriented, computer literate, and possess superior negotiating problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchasing for assigned stock and/or non-stock products
  • Assist with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis
  • Establish as a “product expert” for Williams
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of:
    • Backorder reports
    • Past due reports
    • Missing products
    • PO & vendor invoice reconciliation
    • Billing of Direct shipment

Work cross-functionally with sales and design operations to address needs which could entail:

  • Effectively communicate with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate
  • coordinate with the Warehouse Team to determine and manage inventory needs
  • Communication of inbound trailer schedule with Receiving Team when necessary
  • Interact with vendors to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors

Vendor Purchasing:

  • Program administration
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with vendors
  • Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications
  • Communicate with vendor on product quality issues and corrective measures
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Accuracy with data entry
  • Skill in math to ensure correct calculations
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office Products- specifically Excel
  • Prior experience and understanding of purchase order software platforms
