Job description

Summary
The role of the Project Manager-Industrial Refrigeration in the Service Department is to lead and guide the execution of all engineering, design, procurement, fabrication, field construction (if applicable), and scope changes from project award, to kick-off, through project execution, and to field commissioning of project.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage all technical, commercial, contractual and fabrication requirements, from project initiation to closeout, in accordance with Enerflex internal processes and the project execution plan as established in the proposal phase.
  • Prepare and/or participate with the development of proposals.
  • Concurrent management of multiple projects.
  • Customer main point of contact.
  • Customer relationship building.
  • Preparation of progress report including managing of performance and progress against the plan and ensure accurate forecasts with commensurate action plans.
  • Communication of all customer needs and work-scope inside Enerflex.
  • Validation and oversight of project schedule timelines.
  • Initiating as required all internal / external meetings.
  • Communicate specifications, inspection, and QC requirements inside Enerflex.
  • Participate in P&ID, Hazop and Design reviews.
  • Participate in technical & project execution questions and problems.
  • Coordination and supervision of all activities related to the overall project execution including engineering, material requisition/expediting, schedule preparation, cost control, delivery/shipping, and quality.
  • Resolve issues that impact schedule, problem solve potential design, commissioning and/or warranty issues for highly customized projects.
  • Mentor junior project engineers and project team members.
  • May involve travel to site locations to verify scope and / or provide commissioning and start-up support.
  • Demonstrates strong scope control skills and change management skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the financial goals of the project and what they represent.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Cost Control tools and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the schedule tools, procedures, and work process.
  • Supports the project team in negotiations with major suppliers, subcontractors, licensors, consultants, and others.
  • Consistently advises management concerning client relations/issues.
  • Demonstrates consistency and clear judgement as unexpected problems or opportunities arise.
  • Maintains the Management of Risk Plan and communicates the plan to the project team and management.
  • Demonstrates Integrity and company core values.
  • Ensures quality standards are met in compliance with health, safety, security and environmental codes and standards.

Qualifications
  • Project Management Experience..
  • 5+ years of experience in the ammonia refrigeration industry.
  • Must be able to read & understand piping diagrams, block flow diagrams, specifications, & refrigeration drawings.
  • Must have experience with PSM (process safety management) for end user processing facilities utilizing NH3 as a refrigerant.
  • Experienced with the installation of pipe & fittings utilizing good piping practices following industry standards for NH3 ammonia systems.
  • Knowledgeable in piping different systems correctly such as high-side, low-side, booster discharge, discharge, economizing, equalizing, high pressure liquid, pumped liquid, and condenser drain.
  • Familiarity with the different manufacturers of industrial refrigeration equipment such as: Frick, Mayekawa, Howden, & GEA screw compressors, Evapco airside, RVS vessels, Alfa Laval heat exchangers, Vogt ice makers, & others.
  • Familiarity with the function and installation of different NH3 control and isolation valves manufactured by Danfoss, Hansen Technologies, & R/S.
  • Some experience with NH3 detection systems.
  • Some experience with polystyrene insulation installation practices.
  • Some experience with installation of MIRO or PHP piping support systems.
  • Familiar with IIAR (International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration) standards & bulletins.
  • Familiarity with the type of food, poultry, & beef processing facilities and cold storage warehouses owned by food processors such as Tyson Foods, Pilgrim's Pride, Conagra, Sara Lee, Fieldale Farms & others.
  • Experienced with job-site safety. Weekly toolbox meetings, making sure that all employees and subcontractors are utilizing the correct PPE (personal protective equipment), & daily site safety inspections.

Physical Requirements
Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
