Koil Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Project Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role is ideal for an early-career accounting professional looking to expand their experience beyond Accounts Payable into project accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
  • Process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation.
  • Assist with weekly payment runs, ACHs, wire transfers, and checks.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor records and supporting documentation.

Project Accounting
  • Assist with tracking project costs, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Support project setup and project cost tracking.
  • Review labor, material, subcontractor, and overhead cost allocations.
  • Assist with project profitability reporting and cost analysis.
  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate project financial data.

General Accounting
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support financial reporting and audit preparation.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Assist in improving accounting processes and procedures.
  • Support special projects and reporting initiatives.

Experience & Education:
  • 1-3 years of Accounting or Accounts Payable experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
