Job description

Kaukauna Utilities is seeking a motivated, early-career Junior Project Engineer to support electric and water distribution projects. This is a developmental role designed to build toward full Project Engineer responsibilities.
In this position, you'll assist with the planning, design, and coordination of projects that support the construction, maintenance, and improvement of our electric and water systems. You'll gain hands-on experience in both office and field environments while working alongside experienced engineers and operations crews.
What You'll Do:
  • Support electric and water distribution project planning and design
  • Prepare drawings and construction documents using CAD/GIS tools
  • Coordinate with customers, contractors, municipalities, and internal teams
  • Conduct field surveys and site verification
  • Assist with system analysis, cost estimates, and project documentation
  • Contribute to safe, efficient, and customer-focused project outcomes
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Electrical preferred) from an ABET-accredited institution
  • 0-3 years of related experience (internships welcome)
  • Interest in utility distribution systems and field-based engineering work
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn industry codes, standards, CAD, and GIS systems
