Overview

Reports To: Vice President, Director-Design

The Director of Presentation Design will help lead the creative development and execution of high-impact presentations and visual communications across various platforms. This role demands a blend of strategic thinking, innovative design, and meticulous attention to detail to support client presentations, new business pitches, internal communications, agency social media assets, or whatever communication tool is coming next. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a passion for storytelling through design, a strong portfolio showcasing diverse presentation styles, and experience in managing more junior team members.

Responsibilities

Client Presentations:

  • Lead the design and production of client-facing and internal presentations, ensuring they are visually compelling, aligned with brand guidelines, and effectively communicate key messages.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to understand presentation objectives and tailor designs accordingly.
  • Develop templates and style guides to maintain consistency across presentations.

New Business Pitches:

  • Lead the design and production of visually stunning pitch decks that articulate the agency's value proposition and win new business.
  • Collaborate closely with the business development team to understand pitch objectives, client needs, and tailor designs accordingly.
  • Occasionally travel with the pitch team to client meetings, ensuring decks are updated in real-time to reflect last-minute changes and client feedback.
  • Participate in pitch strategy sessions, contributing creative design ideas and insights to enhance the overall pitch narrative.
  • Develop pitch templates and style guides to maintain consistency across all new business presentations.

Internal Communications:

  • Design engaging and informative internal presentations for executive communications, company meetings, and departmental updates.
  • Work closely with internal partners to ensure that presentations are clear, concise, and visually appealing.

Agency Social Media Assets:

  • Develop creative concepts and design graphics for the agency's social media channels, ensuring consistency with brand identity.
  • Stay current with social media trends and incorporate them into the agency's social media strategy.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor more junior presentation designers, providing guidance, feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Oversee the workload and project timelines to ensure timely delivery of high-quality work.

Innovation and Best Practices:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, design tools, and standard processes in presentation design.
  • Implement new design techniques and tools to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of the design process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in presentation design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of presentation styles and formats.
  • Expertise in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides).
  • Excellent at crafting visually compelling stories, focusing on typography, color, and layout.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to non-design collaborators.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in creating content for social media platforms is a plus.

Compensation Range: $105,165 - $165,485 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
