We are presently searching for a Designer in Portland, OR to support our projects in Northern California.This is a primarily remote position, with occasional travel required.

The Designer, working under general supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, presentations, concept design through design development, and contract documents.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Works with team to develop design ideas and create both presentation and construction drawings
  • Drafts technical drawings
  • Provide review of engineering and landscape drawings to ensure they comply with design solution
  • Ensures integration into overall design
  • Preliminary concept plans for larger projects
  • May develop and finalize conceptual designfor smaller projects
  • Oversees Intermediate Designer to review space plans and tackles more complicated issues
  • Provides detail for interior and architectural design projects
  • Develops and delivers overall design and furniture packages for both interior and exterior
  • Assists in developing packages for larger projects
  • Obtains cost estimates and produces final cost estimates
  • Manages design budget for assigned projects
  • May mentor the work of Junior andIntermediate Designers

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of architecture or design school: equivalent experience may be substituted
  • 6+ years' experience in workplace design, focusing on building repositioning and adaptive re-use projects as well as corporate interiors
