Job description

Encorus Group is seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation & Controls Electrical Engineer to join our Design team in Depew, NY. If you thrive on solving complex automation and controls challenges, leading multidisciplinary projects, and mentoring the next generation of engineers, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you will lead instrumentation, controls, and automation projects from concept to completion, including system design, instrumentation specification, PLC programming, and SCADA development. You will also manage projects, provide technical consulting, develop proposals, and support client relationships. In addition, you will help establish engineering standards, contribute to business development efforts, and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities
  • Lead instrumentation and controls engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Oversee system design, instrument selection, PLC programming, and SCADA development.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, templates, and specifications in accordance with industry codes (ISA, NFPA, IEEE, etc.).
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, documentation, and deliverables as Project Manager.
  • Prepare technical documentation including estimates, schedules, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
  • Review designs and existing systems, providing technical recommendations and consulting to clients.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve project issues.
  • Support business development through client engagement, proposals, and identifying new opportunities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their technical and professional development.
  • Conduct field investigations and site assessments as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with controls engineering, including instrument specification, PLC programming, and SCADA development.
  • Experience with databases and data logging systems such as SQL Server and Microsoft Access.
  • Knowledge of quality programs such as NQA-1, ISO 9000, or similar quality management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MathCAD, ETAP, EasyPower, Visual, or similar engineering and analytical software.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively on integrated project teams and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Ability to maintain required certifications as directed by the company.
  • Willing and able to work in both office and field environments.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel locally and occasionally out of state.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks.
  • Ability to comply with company drug screening requirements, including pre-employment testing.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000. Actual compensation will be based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience.
