Job description

PLC Programmer / Controls Engineering Supervisor

Responsible for programming, maintaining, and optimizing automated control systems in a food, dairy, or beverage manufacturing environment. This role ensures reliable equipment performance, process efficiency, product quality, and operational safety.

Location & Work Schedule
  • Cleveland, Ohio (Onsite)
  • Night shift: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • 5-day workweek
  • Weekend work required based on production needs
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and modify PLC and HMI programs.
  • Monitor and control production processes, including temperature, pressure, and flow parameters.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues.
  • Integrate PLCs with HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, and field devices.
  • Support equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and new system installations.
  • Maintain accurate programming and system documentation.
  • Ensure control systems operate in compliance with food safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to operations and maintenance teams.
Required Background
  • Experience in food, dairy, or beverage manufacturing is required.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems.
  • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA platforms and industrial communication networks.
  • Strong understanding of process control systems and production equipment.
