Job description

Role Overview

PLC Programmer Supervisor responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing automated control systems for industrial production equipment. Ensures safe, consistent, and efficient manufacturing processes with a strong focus on uptime, quality, and compliance.

Location & Work Schedule
  • Cleveland, Ohio (Onsite)
  • Night shift: 10:00 PM โ€“ 8:00 AM
  • 5-day workweek
  • Weekend work required based on production needs
Core Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and test PLC programs using standard industrial control logic methods
  • Monitor and control key process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow in automated production systems
  • Support critical processes including thermal treatment, sterilization, and automated cleaning systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues
  • Integrate PLC systems with operator interfaces, control monitoring systems, sensors, and field devices
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and industrial safety standards through system design and programming
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including system layouts, control logic details, and backup files
  • Support installation, upgrades, and commissioning of automated equipment
Leadership Scope
  • Supervises 4 maintenance technicians
  • Works closely with plant engineering and operations teams
  • Provides technical direction and hands-on support for automation issues
Technical Expertise
  • Strong PLC programming experience (industrial automation systems)
  • Experience with operator interface and industrial monitoring systems
  • Understanding of industrial communication networks (e.g., Ethernet-based and fieldbus systems)
  • Ability to support integrated automated production environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across multi-system production equipment
Qualifications
  • Food manufacturing experience required. Strong preference for dairy processing experience.
Working Conditions & Compensation
  • Industrial food production environment with wet, dry, and temperature-variable conditions
  • Physically active role requiring presence on the production floor
  • Base salary starting around $90,000
  • Bonus structure: to be determined
  • Relocation support available via sign-on bonus (case-by-case)
