Silgan Containers is looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician / PLC Programmer to join our Menomonie, Wisconsin manufacturing team. If you have strong industrial electrical experience and know your way around Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, process controls, and automated manufacturing equipment, this is an opportunity to put your expertise to work in a high-speed environment while continuing to grow your career.
Starting pay: $36.02-38.44 per hour + shift differential

What You'll Do
As an Electrician / Programmer, you'll play a critical role in keeping our automated manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently. You'll:
  • Read, interpret, and create electrical blueprints, schematics, and detailed circuit layouts.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Allen Bradley PLC systems, including VFDs and 4-20 mA circuits.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and operational problems using advanced problem-solving techniques.
  • Install and wire motors, switch panels, fuse boxes, power circuits, and related electrical equipment.
  • Work with servo motor systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and vacuum systems.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot VFDs and process control equipment.
  • Work with sensors, switches, valves, safety circuits, and other automated controls.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and keep equipment operating reliably.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Help optimize equipment performance and support continuous improvement throughout the plant.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safe work practices and electrical safety.

What You'll Bring
We're looking for an experienced industrial electrician who enjoys solving problems and working with sophisticated manufacturing technology.
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and trade school certification.
  • 5+ years of experience as an industrial electrician or electrician programmer.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLC hardware and software.
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC circuits and 440 MCCs.
  • Experience with VFD installation and programming.
  • Knowledge of process controls, including sensors, switches, valves, and safety circuits.
  • Experience programming with Logix 5, Logix 500, and Studio 5000.
  • Strong manufacturing troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe manufacturing environment.

Preferred:
  • HMI programming experience.
  • FactoryTalk ME experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting automated, high-speed manufacturing equipment.
