Job description

We are looking for an experienced Endpoint Management Engineer to oversee and enhance the end-user device ecosystem for a manufacturing organization in Madison, Wisconsin. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for a hands-on systems engineer who enjoys improving endpoint operations, strengthening device security, and delivering a dependable user experience across the business. You will work closely with a collaborative IT team while serving as a key resource for endpoint strategy, support, and automation.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the administration of enterprise endpoint devices such as laptops, desktop computers, mobile devices, printers, RF scanners, and related peripherals across the organization.
• Manage modern endpoint platforms, including Microsoft Intune and Jamf, to maintain secure configurations, policy enforcement, and reliable device performance.
• Direct the full lifecycle of user devices by coordinating setup, imaging, deployment, refresh activities, replacement planning, and retirement of outdated equipment.
• Support Windows rollout initiatives through tools such as Windows Autopilot while maintaining standardized builds and configuration consistency.
• Lead patching and update activities for endpoint systems by validating releases, deploying updates, resolving issues, and minimizing disruption to business applications.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell automation to simplify administrative tasks, improve operational efficiency, and reduce manual support effort.
• Provide technical support for a mixed endpoint environment that may include Windows, macOS, Linux, and specialized hardware used in manufacturing operations.
• Monitor endpoint compliance, enrollment status, and device health to identify problems early and drive timely resolution of reliability or configuration issues.
• Act as an escalation resource for advanced endpoint incidents and collaborate with security, infrastructure, and network teams to address complex technical challenges.
• Assist with conference room and audiovisual technology support and participate in an on-call rotation for high-priority operational issues.• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise-scale endpoint environments.
• Strong background with endpoint management technologies such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, SCCM, or other comparable platforms.
• Hands-on experience with device provisioning, configuration management, patch administration, and endpoint security practices.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and systems administration.
• Working knowledge of mobile device management principles and modern endpoint compliance standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues independently and drive problems through resolution.
• Experience supporting mobile hardware, printers, RF scanners, or other specialized endpoint equipment is highly valued.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or large enterprise setting is preferred.
