Job Summary
Key Account Manager I supports and coordinates activities relating to accounts of commercial and industrial (C&I) customers such as office complexes, hotels, hospitals, production sites, and other commercial properties. This position assists in negotiating, securing, or administering service contracts, tariffs, and agreements that meet customer needs to keep their businesses running smoothly and help them reach long-term sustainability goals. This role is responsible for successfully establishing, maintaining, and enhancing credibility and communication with C&I customers, the communities Alliant Energy serves, account team members, field personnel, and key company functional areas to deliver exceptional customer service.

What you will do
  • Builds relationships with community and commercial and industrial (C&I) customers and supports energy efficiency opportunities and customer growth potential to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Seeks opportunities to create and maintain relationships with community leaders and get involved in the community.
  • Serves as a responsive single point of contact and advocate for customers and acts as a liaison between the customer and Alliant Energy.
  • Works closely with other departments, including billing, operations, marketing, pricing, finance, communications, claims processing, demand side management, and legal.
  • Coordinates the preparation, and timely and accurate execution of utility customer contracts as requested by the customer and ensures that the broad range of services are accessible to meet customer needs.
  • Responsible for data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of C&I customer information files.
  • Responsible for continuous contact with electric and gas systems operations to trigger notifications of interruptible customers.
  • Supports the maintenance of the interruptible database necessary to generate reports, maintain contact records, and initiate notifications of interruptions.
  • Learns, observes, and enforces safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors.
  • Engages in other duties as needed that support our Values and help deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree Business administration, marketing, advertising, economics or related area. Preferred

Required Experience
  • 0-3 years of related experience.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in the utility industry and with commercial and/or industrial customer support or sales.

Other Requirements
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Travel can include occasional overnight stays.

Pay Range:

$75,000-$85,000

This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
