Description
The Senior Business Systems Analyst is a senior-level business and technical role responsible for supporting and improving ElectroCraft's ERP applications, reporting platforms, SQL-based data solutions, and Power BI analytics. This position works with business leaders, functional users, and IT to turn operational needs into reliable system solutions, accurate reporting, and scalable improvements across manufacturing, finance, supply chain, operations, and leadership reporting.
Requirements
ERP Application Support & Business Systems Analysis
• Serve as a primary support and analysis resource for ERP applications, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 or comparable ERP platforms.
• Partner with manufacturing, finance, supply chain, operations, and leadership teams to understand business needs, document requirements, and deliver practical system solutions.
• Troubleshoot ERP application issues, data inconsistencies, transaction errors, user access concerns, and process gaps; coordinate escalation when needed.
• Support ERP configuration, testing, upgrades, patches, integrations, and enhancements while minimizing business disruption.
• Maintain functional documentation, process maps, user guides, system standards, and support procedures.
Reporting, Power BI & SQL Analytics
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, SQL-based reports, SSRS reports, and recurring business reporting packages.
• Create and optimize SQL queries, views, stored procedures, datasets, and data models that support accurate reporting and analytics.
• Develop executive dashboards, operational reports, manufacturing KPIs, financial reporting, inventory visibility, and supply chain metrics.
• Validate report logic, reconcile data sources, and ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, performance, and scalability.
• Work with stakeholders to define report requirements, standardized metrics, KPI definitions, and reporting best practices.
Manufacturing Systems & Data Integration
• Support data flows between ERP, reporting systems, manufacturing applications, EDI, shop-floor systems, inventory tools, and third-party business applications.
• Assist with manufacturing data structures including items, BOMs, routings, work orders, labor reporting, inventory transactions, costing, and scheduling-related data.
• Research and resolve integration or transaction issues that affect production, inventory, costing, shipping, purchasing, or reporting accuracy.
• Support data migration, validation, cleanup, and master data improvement initiatives.
Process Improvement, Controls & User Adoption
• Identify and recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, report standardization, and system enhancements.
• Support internal controls, security roles, audit requests, segregation-of-duties reviews, and data governance activities related to ERP and reporting systems.
• Train and support users with varying technical skill levels; promote adoption of system improvements and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and internal IT resources to troubleshoot issues and deliver approved projects.
• Mentor junior analysts or support resources as needed and help strengthen team documentation and cross-training.
Education Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Required Experience and Skills
• 5+ years of progressive experience in business systems analysis, ERP application support, reporting, SQL development, or business intelligence in a manufacturing or multi-site business environment.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI and SQL, including report development, data modeling, query development, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting ERP applications such as Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, or comparable systems.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, finance, supply chain, and operational business processes.
• Ability to gather requirements, document processes, analyze gaps, test solutions, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, prioritization, and customer service skills.
Preferred Experience and Skills
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with SSRS, data warehousing, ETL concepts, APIs, EDI, MES, or shop-floor system integrations.
• Advanced SQL development, performance tuning, and data validation experience.
• Experience building executive dashboards, operational scorecards, manufacturing KPIs, and standardized reporting templates.
• Experience supporting multi-site or global manufacturing operations.
• Experience mentoring other analysts, report writers, or ERP support team members.
