Job description

At RHI Magnesita, winning in complex industrial markets depends on deep insight - not just data. As a Market Intelligence Analyst, you play a critical role in shaping how our Sales organization understands customers, competitors, and market dynamics.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, sales, analytics, and AI. You'll partner directly with the Head of Steel Sales North America and commercial leadership to transform market data, customer feedback, and sales intelligence into actionable insights that drive pricing decisions, portfolio optimization, and long-term growth.

You'll gain hands-on exposure to customers, collaborate closely with sales teams, and help build the next generation of AI-enabled market intelligence. If you're curious, analytical, personable, and excited by the idea of turning insight into impact, this role delivers.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a strategic intelligence partner to sales leadership, delivering insights that inform commercial and strategic decisions
  • Research and analyze steel and industrial market trends, combining internal sales data with external market intelligence
  • Partner closely with the sales team to collect field intelligence, structure inputs, and convert insights into clear market narratives
  • Build and maintain executive-ready dashboards, reports, and briefings using Excel, Power BI, CRM systems, and other analytics tools
  • Conduct deep dives into specific markets or segments (e.g., MPG) to support targeted growth strategies
  • Travel to customer sites to develop firsthand understanding of customer operations, needs, and decision drivers
  • Leverage and help develop AI-enabled analytics tools to automate intelligence gathering, accelerate analysis, and uncover trends
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and relevance across multiple internal and external sources

What You'll Need to Be Successful

To thrive in this role, you'll combine strong analytical capability with commercial curiosity and a relationship-driven mindset.

  • 3-4 years of experience in market intelligence, business analysis, strategy, or commercial analytics
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI, CRM tools (Microsoft CRM a plus), or similar platforms
  • Comfort working with large data sets and synthesizing inputs from multiple sources
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, business-focused insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and confidence partnering with sales teams and senior leaders
  • Interest in AI, advanced analytics, and modern intelligence tools
  • Experience in steel, refractories, manufacturing, or B2B industrial markets is a plus

How You'll Grow

This role offers meaningful exposure and accelerated learning. In your first 30 days, you'll focus on onboarding, systems, and customer exposure to build a strong foundation. Early travel and close collaboration with sales will fast-track your understanding of markets and decision drivers.

Over time, you'll expand ownership of market intelligence initiatives, deepen your strategic influence, and help shape how RHI Magnesita uses data and AI to compete and win. The visibility, relationships, and experience gained create strong pathways for long-term growth within the organization.

Work Environment

This role is remote-friendly, with a strong preference for candidates based in or near Pittsburgh. Travel is an important part of the role, especially early on, with up to approximately 75% travel in the first few months to accelerate learning and customer immersion. Travel typically transitions to once per month thereafter. All travel and customer-facing activities are conducted in accordance with RHI Magnesita's safety policies.
