Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer (E&I)
Engagement: 12 months or longer | Base: Houston, TX (some travel possible)

It's project kickoff day. You align with Project Execution, Operations, and Shared Services. The goal: expand facilities safely and efficiently. You set the scope, budget, schedule, and risk posture. Third‑party engineers begin drafting. You guide them—verifying standards, challenging assumptions, and ensuring every deliverable mirrors Company and industry requirements. As construction starts, you are the technical constant—from design reviews to commissioning sign‑off—always embedding lessons learned for the next win.
Your mission
- Lead electrical and controls design for expansion and maintenance capital projects executed by external engineering firms.
- Guard budgets and schedules while elevating technical quality.
- Approve drawings, reports, and material lists; drive vendor technical evaluations and recommend selections (turbines/compressors, vessels, buildings, pipe, valves, fittings).
- Support construction and commissioning with hands‑on technical guidance.
- Mentor junior engineers and spearhead department programs.
- Ensure all scopes satisfy regulatory, environmental, health, and safety obligations.
Baseline qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7 years of progressively responsible engineering and project management experience.
Where you’re fluent
- Low voltage (120/208 V): lighting panels, luminaires, convenience receptacles.
- Medium/low voltage (480 V): MCCs/motor starters, motors, power panels, transformers, automatic transfer switches, generators.
- Medium voltage (4160 V): switchgear, motor starters, synchronous motors, breakers, protective relays, metering.
- Design fundamentals: cable and conduit sizing; starter/overload sizing; grounding; cathodic protection.
- Controls: PLCs (Allen‑Bradley or equivalent), motor control circuits, electric/pneumatic valve actuators, PID controllers, Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD).
- Instrumentation: smart and analog transmitters (Rosemount, Honeywell), pneumatic gauges, pressure/differential pressure/temperature transmitters.
