Darien Advisors is seeking a Tax Manager to lead review cycles, guide a team of preparers and reviewers, and provide strategic tax advisory to crypto-native clients. Youll be a key partner to our tax leadership, helping manage workflow, mentor talent, and ensure our clients receive gold-standard service in a rapidly evolving tax and regulatory environment.

Who You Are

  • A licensed CPA or EA with an active PTIN
  • 5+ years of experience in U.S. tax compliance, planning, and advisory
  • Experienced in managing or reviewing complex filings (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S)
  • Confident providing oversight and mentorship to a team of tax preparers/reviewers
  • Familiar with (or eager to deepen expertise in) crypto taxation, including wallets, DeFi, staking, NFTs, token launches, and DAOs
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems in fast-changing tax environments
  • Comfortable leading internal workflows and engaging directly with clients
  • Tech-forward and experienced with tools like Drake, Karbon, and crypto tax platforms
  • Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and autonomous


What Youll Do

  • Oversee and review individual and business tax returns prepared by the team
  • Serve as a quality control checkpointapproving and signing off on complex filings
  • Lead weekly or biweekly review syncs, manage review queues, and help triage bottlenecks
  • Collaborate directly with clients on tax strategy, quarterly estimates, and entity planning
  • Support IRS and state agency response letters, audits, and complex issue resolution
  • Identify training opportunities and mentor junior and mid-level tax staff
  • Partner with the firms leadership team on internal process improvements and scaling strategy
  • Maintain accurate documentation and drive quality standards across the tax function
