Job description

Responsible for the analysis and reporting of electric and/or gas extension projects and statistics for MDU Utilities Group.   Works with Regulatory Affairs and Business Development to develop and establish policies for the review and analysis of growth extension projects. Assists Field Operations by providing analysis of past growth extension projects when needed. Tracks main extension projects through the life of the review period and provides data to Regulatory Affairs. Responsible for preparing and providing recommendations for all annual extension reviews.  Works with Accounts Payable to process customer refunds or billing. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess a working knowledge of business practices at a level normally acquired through completion of a four-year degree in accounting, business administration, economics, marketing, or related field or related experience; and
  • Four years' experience working in accounting, utility service marketing, business administration/analysis, regulatory affairs, or related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CPA or professional certification desired. 
  • JD Edwards and utility accounting experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
  • May require travel: Minimal (up to 10%).
  • Required to maintain a valid driver's license. 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Leads the preparation of growth extension project reviews ensuring that final product includes concise and accurate explanations of variances and changes and appropriate supporting documents.
  2. Designs, completes and maintains spreadsheets and databases necessary for assigned growth extension project reviews.
  3. Assists in the maintenance, enhancement and implementation of the tools used to complete the annual growth extension project reviews.
  4. Tracks the growth extension projects currently in review and provides data regarding the reviews to other departments as requested.
  5. Assists in the preparation of Business Development’s guidance for the annual capital and five-year forecast.
  6. Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Offers typically made between $73,460 - $91,830
