REPORTS TO: TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

BACKGROUND

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of a Technical Project Manager, the Junior Business Analyst role assists with analysis of designs, implementation of SiloSmashers Business Intelligence solutions and facilitates delivery of data analysis, reporting and support to end users of client's data and systems in order to fulfill business objectives.

Specific tasks include process analysis, requirements gathering, system design and testing, and documentation. This individual will use proven analytic, communication, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs analysis of data from Oracle, SharePoint, and other sources to populate Business Intelligence solutions to support the client.
  • Participates on projects using standard and agile project management methodologies.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of applications, data structures, queries, and reports.
  • Collaborates with business clients and IT staff to analyze and design process improvements that will permit more efficient and accurate reporting or improved data quality from the Data Warehouse or other sources.
  • Supports data integrity, data quality, and audit efforts as needed.
  • Helps implement, monitor, and enforce IT related processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Carries out other duties as may be assigned or requested as appropriate for the role.
  • Performs all functions of the job in a safe and conscientious manner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of previous experience as a business analyst, systems analyst, data warehouse analyst or similar experience.
  • 3 years or more of total IT-related experience.
  • Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited college or university; or equivalent education/experience in an information technology field.
  • Demonstrated experience in business administration, systems and/or data analysis.
  • Familiarity with standard business processes and reporting (report design, charts, graphs).
  • Strong presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to extract and refine requirements from clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications. Experience in report writing is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload and maintain schedules and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
