They work with data, create reports and dashboards, and help organizations make data-driven decisions. Their responsibilities typically include data analysis, report generation, and supporting senior BI developers in implementing data models and ETL processes. Junior BI Developers often use tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SQL to extract and visualize data. This role is a great starting point for a career in data analytics or business intelligence.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a junior BI developer?

To thrive as a Junior BI Developer, you need a solid understanding of data analysis, SQL, and database concepts, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. • Work with large-scale datasets supporting millions of users and high-volume business operations
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering and Machine Learning to improve data availability and usability
  • Grow your analytics engineering expertise while helping evolve Prodege's BI platform
What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics products that support business decision-making
  • Develop and maintain analytics data models using dbt and Snowflake
  • Build trusted datasets and reusable reporting assets that enable scalable self-service analytics
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into scalable BI solutions
  • Implement KPI definitions and reporting standards established across the organization
  • Optimize SQL queries, analytics models, and reporting performance
  • Validate data quality through testing, monitoring, and documentation
  • Support executive reporting and operational dashboards
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to improve data pipelines and data availability
  • Troubleshoot reporting issues and continuously improve platform reliability
  • Contribute to analytics engineering best practices including testing, documentation, version control, and code reviews
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve SQL development, documentation, reporting workflows, and analytics productivity
  • Mentor junior BI engineers and analytics engineers while sharing technical knowledge across the team
The MUST Haves
