As a Senior Multiplayer Programmer, you will focus on designing, implementing, and optimizing the networked systems that power large‑scale multiplayer games. You are responsible for the architecture and performance of the game’s online systems.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Design, implement, and maintain network systems that support real‑time multiplayer gameplay, including replication, synchronization, and communication layers.
  • Integrate network functionality into the game engine, working closely with gameplay, backend, and engine teams.
  • Optimize network performance to ensure low latency, low bandwidth usage, and high reliability across platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues during development and after launch, including desyncs, lag, and connection problems.
  • Contribute to the replication ecosystem and ensure network systems support the project’s ambitions.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration of multiplayer features into gameplay systems.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate programmers.
  • Stay current with networking technologies and propose improvements to existing systems.

Basic Requirements:

  • Significant experience with AAA multiplayer games or large‑scale networked systems.

  • Deep understanding of low‑level networking concepts (protocols, sockets, reliability models) and high‑level multiplayer systems (prediction, rollback, replication).
  • Ability to profile, debug, and optimize networked gameplay.
  • Strong communication skills for working with gameplay, engine, and backend teams.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Console development experience.
  • Shipped at least one title on PC or console.
  • Experience with multithreaded programming techniques

QUALIFICATIONS
