POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Junior Sales Engineer supports the Chief Technical Officer Sales Engineering team in the development of technical solutions that meet customer requirements. This role works closely with senior sales engineers, sales personnel, engineering teams, and customers to analyze requirements, assist in solution development, and contribute to proposal and business development activities.
This position is designed for an entry level engineering professional seeking to develop expertise in satellite communications, IP networking, and telecommunications systems within a customer-facing technical environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Support Sales Engineering processes and established technical solution workflows. Activities include: Provide OW performance data to sales/customer requests; troubleshooting UT/network performance, recommend potential improvement to sales engineering process.
  • Assist in analyzing customer technical requirements and contribute to solution design documentation.
  • Develop a working understanding of the OneWeb LEO network and related service offerings.
  • Contribute to end-to-end solution design activities, including network sizing, equipment specifications, and basic transmission analyses.
  • Perform limited integration, testing, and initial configuration of user terminals and related equipment.
  • Support installation and troubleshooting of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking devices.
  • Assist in identifying performance issues and recommend corrective actions under supervision.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and sales support activities.
  • Assist with coordination of tests, demonstrations, and customer trials.
  • Collaborate with Project Management team and external vendors or contractors as required to support contract execution.
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Business Development teams.
  • Develop satellite solutions utilizing company teleport facilities.
  • Master the use of various Engineering Tools i.e. Grafana, Device Hub. Modest, etc., to support customers and sales team.
  • Resolve customer issues timely, support complex system installations and startups at customer sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • There are no supervisory responsibilities for this role.

EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of IP networking concepts and telecommunications systems is required.
  • Basic understanding of satellite communication systems is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • 1 - 3 years of relevant engineering, network support, or telecommunications experience preferred.
  • Experience in commercial satellite service environments or military background is preferred.
  • Familiarity with mobile and fixed network services preferred.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2/3 network devices preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to meet with the customer (face-to-face) on short notice in support of Sales efforts andsurge requirements.
  • Ability to travel domestically (primarily CONUS) as business needs require.
