JPS Health Network has been serving the residents of Tarrant County for over 100 years, covering a population of 3.5+ million. As the county health network and Level-1 Trauma Center, JPS is also an urban teaching hospital with a long history of training physicians and medical students. JPS offers 18 residency and fellowship programs, including the largest family medicine residency in the nation.

Job Summary:
The Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC) Physician is responsible for delivering direct clinical care to patients presenting with acute psychiatric emergencies. This position provides rapid psychiatric assessment, stabilization, and disposition planning for patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
The PEC Psychiatrist works shifts and collaborates closely with other physicians, residents, advanced practice providers, nursing, social work, learners, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence-based care. This role supports patient flow, crisis intervention, and timely disposition, including admission, discharge, or referral to appropriate levels of care.
This position also supports quality, safety, and operational excellence within the Psychiatric Emergency Center and collaborates with departmental leadership to optimize clinical outcomes and throughput.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting to the psychiatric emergency center.
Develop and implement stabilization and treatment plans using appropriate interventions in a high-acuity environment.
Coordinates multidisciplinary care to optimize patient outcomes.
Supervise and/or mentor psychiatric staff such as advanced practice providers, residents, and trainees.
Collaborate with other attending providers, nursing leadership, social work, and other allied health professionals to support cohesive care delivery and efficient patient flow.
Reviews medical charts to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients and families.
Ensures care delivery aligns with JPS Health Network and Acclaim Health guidelines.
Provides evidence-based, compassionate care to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Demonstrates patient-centered and value-driven behavior.
Supports academic, educational, and research initiatives
Participates in Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committees.
Build positive relationships with staff, partners, patients, and the community to enhance the JPS Health Network and Acclaim Health experience, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Serves as a community resource.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
