Job description

The JPS Intern will work under the supervision of their Supervisor or Manager to provide project and administrative support to their respective department. This is a paid temporary hourly without benefits. Interns are not guaranteed a full-time position at the end of their internship, but are open to apply for any existing openings. Interns will have preferential treatment in selection of next years internship program if they perform at an acceptable level.
Interns will handle a wide variety of tasks, such as:
  • Auditing and creating reports
  • Documenting standard work and procedures/processes
  • Creating training materials and checklists
  • Posting and removing internal job advertisements as needed
  • Schedule interviews with applicants
  • File documents and organize working areas
  • Assist in the planning of company events
  • Complete organizational projects, and participating in companywide initiatives
  • Performs ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Assist with orientation and training sessions for new employees.
  • Answer the telephone, relays messages, and maintain office equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with safety related tasks
  • Assist with Steel Partners programs, such as Steel Sports Youth Summer Camps
  • Participate in regular team meetings or 1:1 meetings with the supervisor/Manager of the area

The JPS intern is expected to adhere to the JPS Core Values, Accountability, Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Commitment. These values are also shared by Steel Partners. The intern must be flexible in working environment and conditions, and be willing to adapt to whatever the greatest need of the business is.
Must be enrolled in College or Trade School.
