Job Coach Trainer information

What does a Job Coach Trainer do?

A Job Coach Trainer helps individuals develop the necessary skills to succeed in the workplace. They provide personalized guidance, training, and support to people who may have barriers to employment, such as disabilities or lack of experience. Their responsibilities include assessing clients' abilities, teaching job-related skills, assisting with job searches, and offering on-the-job support. Job Coach Trainers also collaborate with employers to ensure a smooth transition for their clients and promote workplace inclusion.

What is the difference between Job Coach Trainer vs Job Counselor?

AspectJob Coach TrainerJob Counselor
CredentialsCertifications in coaching, training, or vocational rehabilitationCertifications in counseling, psychology, or social work
Work EnvironmentWorkshops, training sessions, one-on-one coachingCounseling centers, schools, social service agencies
Employer & IndustryRehabilitation agencies, nonprofits, corporate trainingEducational institutions, mental health clinics, social services

While both roles support individuals in career development, a Job Coach Trainer primarily focuses on skill-building and training for employment, whereas a Job Counselor provides guidance and emotional support to address personal barriers to employment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Job Coach Trainer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Job Coach Trainer, you need a background in vocational training, instructional techniques, and an understanding of employment services, often supported by a relevant degree or experience in workforce development. Familiarity with career assessment tools, job readiness software, and sometimes certifications like Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) are valuable. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and motivational abilities help build rapport and support clients' growth. These skills ensure effective guidance, skill development, and successful job placements for individuals seeking employment.

How does a Job Coach Trainer typically support both clients and employers throughout the job placement process?

A Job Coach Trainer plays a vital role in bridging the gap between job seekers and employers by providing tailored support before, during, and after job placement. They assess clients’ strengths, help develop essential workplace skills, and offer on-the-job training to ensure a smooth transition into employment. Additionally, Job Coach Trainers work closely with employers to understand job requirements, facilitate accommodations if needed, and promote an inclusive work environment. Regular check-ins and progress monitoring help both parties address challenges and achieve long-term success.

This is a performance-driven role that combines coaching, accountability, and sales. Success in this position requires the ability to create trust, establish value, and help members commit to the programs that will produce real results. • Identify member goals, pain points, and obstacles to create customized training solutions

  • Confidently present and recommend personal training and coaching programs based on member needs

  • Build value around accountability, coaching, and long-term results not just workouts

  • Lead one-on-one personal training sessions and small group training sessions

  • Deliver high energy coaching sessions that create both results and long term retention

  • Track member progress, adjust programming, and maintain consistent accountability

  • Support lead generation, referrals, follow-up, and member retention efforts

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional training environment

  • Collaborate with club leadership to drive club growth and deliver an elite member experience

  • 1+ years of training, coaching, sales, or fitness industry experience preferred

  • Strong communication, confidence, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to lead by example and represent the Anytime Fitness culture and brand

Compensation & Benefits

  • Supportive, high performance team culture focused on growth and development

  • Clear opportunity for advancement into leadership roles

Who Thrives Here
  • Coaches who understand that results require both accountability and commitment

  • People who are confident creating value and asking for the sale

  • Self-starters who take ownership instead of waiting for direction

  • High performers who enjoy goals, standards, and accountability

  • Leaders who care deeply about changing lives not just counting reps
