Business Domain Analysis:
  • Manage business relationship, understand business strategy and needs with an aim to create a trusted partnership. Participate in business planning discussions and provide guidance and recommendations.
  • Communicate the analytics and/or data plan and insights with expert storytelling ability.
  • Define and size business opportunities/problem that can solved through analytics and/or data. Assess and priortize the opportunity to bring forward a value based, business outcome analytics and/or data solution.
  • Design analytical and/or data solutions from a broad array of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive techniques. Develop analytics and/or data roadmaps to support business strategy.
  • Plan, prioritize, and translate needs of the business and initiatives to deliver analytics and/or data solutions through cross functional execution across teams
  • Utilizes expert level knowledge across business area(s) and industry to:
    • Lead the analytics structure and analytics priorities for a specific business area(s)
    • Provide data driven insights impacting one or more business area(s)

  • Proficient level understanding of the relationships in specific business area data sets and how they change and trend over time and the key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work and guide the work of other analysts.
  • Analyze datasets pertaining to business area(s); utilizes standard formulas, methods, and BI tools common in the industry and relevant to the current data.
  • Defines reporting data sets, core metrics, and key performance indicators for specific business area(s). Utilizes BI/Reporting tools to explore data and produce outputs.
  • Leads others to help solve multifaceted problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions; Works with data & engineering teams to translate complex business data requirements into data model relationships.

Business Data Communications:
  • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to persuade a different point of view. Contributes to change initiatives by actively soliciting and listening to feedback to determine need for change or improvement.
  • Prepares professional presentations, reports, or visualizations and presents this information various cross-departmental teams, including leadership groups, while tailoring the presentation and insights to a level appropriate for the audience.

  • Maintains a high-level awareness of industry, competitor, and market trends; interprets internal/external business challenges pertaining to business area(s) and recommends changes to improve products, processes, or services.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, computer science, information management, statistics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related professional work experience.
  • 7+ years' data analytics experience.
  • Business Domain Skills:
    • Expert business acumen and analysis skills to understand and quantify the steps required, impacts, and benefits associated with implementing or changing business process, rules, policy, etc. to impact performance.
    • Expert understanding of products/services in own area and knowledge of those in other areas; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate TruStage in the market.
    • Strong understanding of applicable business concepts, metrics, processes, and systems for business area(s).
    • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive, production environment, for self and others.
    • Knowledge of leading practices and how own area integrates with others.
  • Data Skills:
    • Skilled in data mining technologies such as: Alteryx, R, Python, SQL, SAS.
    • Ability to interpret data models in conjunction with exploratory analysis of a database.
  • Data Knowledge:
    • In-depth knowledge of key data across multiple data domains and or business units, Expert knowledge on multiple source systems and the data they generate.
    • Ability to tutor co-workers (within and outside of organizational department) on various data domains.
    • Routinely validates how data elements are structured and confirms alignment with business definitions.
  • Data Modeling:
    • In-depth knowledge of multiple data models leveraged across the enterprise (either multiple business units or multiple data domains) and data storage tools such as Snowflake
    • Advanced ability to translate complex business requirements into logical data model.
    • Aligns closely with the data and engineering teams in the construction of the physical data model.
    • Ability to provides basic datasets to analyst teams for exploratory analysis.
  • Reporting and BI:
    • Skilled in BI applications such as PowerBI.
    • Advanced ability to construct dynamic reports / scorecards vs static reports and ability to visualize the data in the best representation given the data or analytics required.
    • Advanced ability to represent multivariate data within a single comprehensive visual.
    • Ability to incorporate aesthetic principles into report / scorecard development.
  • Communications:
    • Ability to communicate analytics in layperson's terms.
    • Ability to communicate ideas at every level of detail, from the most detailed business discussion to a leadership forum.
    • Skilled at leading development of presentation logic and strong presentation skills.
    • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) up and down organizational structure regarding all tasks and assignments.

Base Salary Range:
$102,400.00 - $153,600.00
