Jive Records was a prominent American record label founded in 1981, known for launching the careers of major artists in pop, hip-hop, and R&B. The label was responsible for signing acts such as Britney Spears, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and A Tribe Called Quest. Jive Records played a significant role in shaping the sound of popular music in the 1990s and early 2000s. In 2011, the label was merged into RCA Records as part of a larger restructuring by its parent company, Sony Music.
