Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Credit Manager with a solid track record in credit management to lead our team. The Credit Manager, based at our corporate headquarters, will support our field Credit Managers and ensure seamless credit operations within our organization. This pivotal role requires significant credit management experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a demonstrated ability to deliver tangible results. Additionally, you will collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including Sales, Finance, and distribution center Presidents, to maintain credit policies and procedures aligned with organizational objectives.
This position is based in Westlake, TX.
Responsibilities:
• Indirectly lead a team of Field Credit Managers, providing strategic direction, guidance, and mentorship to drive their professional growth and optimize team performance.
• Conduct periodic creditworthiness reviews of large national customers as well as monitor creditworthiness reviews performed by field credit personnel
• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to enhance credit operations, streamline processes, and strengthen overall credit risk management.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of Field Credit Managers, conducting regular assessments, and providing actionable feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Analyze credit data and market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities and develop proactive strategies to mitigate risk and optimize credit performance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies governing credit management and collections practices.
• Serve as a primary point of escalation for complex credit issues, leveraging your expertise to provide guidance and support to credit managers, sales leaders, and distribution center presidents.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and effective communication to drive successful credit management practices.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on credit performance, presenting key metrics, trends, and actionable insights to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes in credit management, and recommend proactive adjustments to policies and procedures as necessary.
The Ideal Candidate will possess:
• In-depth knowledge of credit principles, practices, and regulations, with the ability to apply sound judgment in complex credit scenarios.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the capacity to interpret complex data and develop innovative solutions to mitigate credit risk.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and drive alignment on credit management strategies.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with credit management software preferred.
• Professional certification (e.g., Certified Credit Executive, Certified Credit Professional) a plus.
