The Corporate Credit Manager (CCM) is responsible for all credit and collections activities for the Company. Primary responsibilities include preventing the Company from making sales for which the risk does not warrant the extension of credit, as well as collecting on all receivables across all lines of our business.

Success in this position is largely determined based on the CCM's ability to effectively manage the Credit team. The Credit team generally consists of between 8 and 10 Analysts. Analysts "own" the credit review and collections process for specific lines of business (parts and service, leasing, etc.) and/or regions. Analysts are empowered to assign credit limits to customers, with higher limits requiring additional levels of review and approval, including from the CCM, Director of Finance, and Ownership.

In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities of extending credit, driving collections, and ensuring that credit-related reporting is accurate, the CCM is responsible for planning, leading, and executing on various credit-related projects. Projects will include tactical and strategic areas including business process and systems improvements, efficiency initiatives, developing effective reporting and analysis, and expansion activities. This includes working with cross functional resources, building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and continually seeking mechanisms to streamline and automate processes.

Manage the Credit team of 8 team members and all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Credit Department.

As the leader of a customer-facing team, the Credit Manager must constantly build and develop strong business relationships with customers via in-person meetings, phone calls, and professional written communications. The Credit Manager should also hold the team accountable for doing the same.
• Develop and train team members to enhance each employee's understanding of the Company's processes and procedures as it pertains to credit and collections.
• Continuously monitor and measure effectiveness of the team as well as current training and reference tools/materials and make appropriate adjustments as needed.
• Monitor all accounts receivable-related transactions, ensuring completeness and accuracy and that all required deadlines are met.
• Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information as it relates to Accounts Receivable and AR Agings; ensure accuracy of financial statements and account reconciliations.
  Utilize all tools and processes available to minimize bad debt.
• Manage and evaluate all Credit related escalations by understanding the root cause, training team members and establishing processes to prevent future occurrences.
• Use department specific metrics and customer feedback to manage the quantitative and qualitative results of the Credit team to ensure established expectations are being met at all times. Review, research, and work with the Corporate Controller to implement modifications to drive improvements and efficiencies in internal processes and internal controls.
• Engage with credit reporting and collections agencies as necessary.
• Maintain current department technical knowledge by remaining up to date on how to execute tasks in all areas of the department including but not limited to; data entry, check requests, rent schedules & payments, employee reimbursements, utilities invoices, payments, and reversals.
• Become an expert-level user of all systems used as part of credit and collections processes.
• Lead and take ownership of all Credit-related aspects of system conversions (most notably the current system conversion from CDK to Procede).
• Implement and optimize a score-based credit rating system to make credit extension decisions more systematic and data-driven.
• Remain knowledgeable and informed of fluctuations and discrepancies of all accounts as it pertains to payables.
• Regular and prompt attendance to provide reliable, dependable performance in support of department needs.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Eight to ten years of experience in a high volume Credit, AR, and accounting setting
• Minimum five years' experience in a supervisory or management role
• Extensive experience in a customer-facing AR role
• Experience analyzing, identifying, recommending, and executing solutions based on sound data
• Technical writing experience preferred
• Solid knowledge of Credit processes and procedures
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong skills in MS Office (must have Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills)
• Excellent detail orientation, organization, and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate orally and via email with all levels of internal and external parties while building positive relationships and maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times
• Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
• Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts receivable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
• Self-driven, intellectually curious individual with a high sense of personal ownership
• Ability to demonstrate responsibility and accountability in decision making
• Ability to lead in a cross-functional fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Ability to influence with authority while driving the coordinated efforts of a team
