Join Jenkins County Medical Center's Emergency Department as a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and be part of a fast-paced, patient focused environment where your work truly matter. At JCMC, we take pride in providing compassionate, high quality care to our community.


In this role, you will deliver hands on nursing care to patients experiencing urgent and critical health needs while working alongside a supportive team that values collaboration, accountability, and strong patient outcomes.


Duties

  • Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, physical observations, and evaluations to determine immediate care needs.
  • Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
  • Assist with emergency care procedures including airway management, ventilator support, catheterization, and sterile techniques
  • Document all patient interactions and care provided using EMR systems in compliance with HIPPA and facility standards
  • Support triage processes by prioritizing patient care based on acuity levels
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members during diagnostic and treatment processes
  • Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing needs
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Participate in maintaining a team focused environment that support quality care and patient safety

Requirements:

Requirements

  • Valid LPN license in good standing with current Georgia licensure
  • Experience in emergency or acute care preferred; trauma experience in a plus
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar)
  • Skilled in IV insertion, medication administration, and basic emergency care procedures
  • Familiarity with infection control and sterile processing standards
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

Additional Skills and Experience

  • Experience with phlebotomy and patient care procedures preferred
  • Knowledge of working with diverse patient populations including geriatric and special needs patients is a plus
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and compassionate in high pressure situations
