This is a remote role within a global team that utilizes cutting-edge technology to stay connected with colleagues worldwide. Being a Software Engineer at iManage Means...
You will play a key role on the team responsible for supporting and enhancing iManage's core platform. In this role, you'll help design, build, and deliver solutions that have meaningful impact on our customers around the world. Fluency in both written and spoken Japanese and English is essential, as you will work closely with our growing customer base in Japan-helping bridge communication across teams, ensuring alignment with customer needs, and supporting successful product adoption.
You'll work with modern technologies including Java, Docker, Kubernetes, ElasticSearch, MariaDB Clusters, and more. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, product, sales, and services throughout the development and customer engagement lifecycle. Our collaborative culture empowers teams to solve challenging technical problems while building strong relationships and having fun along the way, supported by leaders who care about your growth.
iM Responsible For...
  • Designing and developing modules and features for the iManage Work family of products in Azure cloud
  • Collaborating within cross-functional engineering teams as well as peer teams to build an integrated solution
  • Interfacing with customers and internal stakeholders to understand business needs, challenges, and solution requirements
  • Encouraging software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation) and related tools like GitHub, Jira, Jenkins etc.
  • Communicating, documenting, and presenting in front of technical and business audiences in Japanese and English
  • Striving to consistently learn and improve within the company as well as share knowledge with colleagues globally

iM Qualified Because I Have...
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken Japanese and English (business-level or higher)
  • Professional experience building software applications with Java
  • Proficiency in one other programming languages; full-stack development as a plus
  • Proficiency with relational database and NoSQL systems
  • Thought leadership and design skills in one or more key technology areas: high-transaction systems, micro-services based distributed architectures, fault-tolerant designs, data and system security.
  • Experience with Linux platform as development and runtime environment
  • Knowledge of secure coding and design practices (including threat modelling) as a plus
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and build management; use of Docker as a plus

The overall US annual base salary range for this position is $100,000-$180,000 per year. Individual compensation for each candidate depends on factors such as qualifications, experience, and candidate location. This range does not include additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses, commission, or benefits.
