Hiring: Janitorial Supervisorย 

We are seeking a qualified individual to work on-site as a Janitorial Supervisorย ย supporting daily operations at a VA medical facility. This role combines hands-on janitorial duties with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring all cleaning services are performed in accordance with contract requirements.

The Role

As a Janitorial Supervisor , you will be responsible for overseeing janitorial staff while also actively performing cleaning duties. You will ensure daily operations run smoothly, maintain cleanliness standards, and support the team by working alongside them when needed.

This is an on-site, hands-on role requiring both leadership and active participation in cleaning tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise and manage janitorial staff during daily operations
  • Perform janitorial cleaning duties alongside staff as required
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks meet medical facility standards
  • Coordinate daily work schedules and staff assignments
  • Ensure minimum staffing levels are maintained at all times
  • Conduct routine inspections of facility cleanliness
  • Respond to spills, urgent cleaning needs, and service calls
  • Clean and maintain restrooms, floors, offices, and common areas
  • Operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, mops, floor machines, etc.)
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and OSHA standards
  • Maintain logs, reports, and required documentation
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact
  • Ensure all personnel follow facility rules and security procedures
  • Report incidents, damages, or safety concerns
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 1 year of medical facility cleaning experience
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • Ability to perform physical janitorial work daily
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety standards
  • Ability to manage staff and maintain workflow
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to follow contract requirements and procedures
  • Must speak and read English fluently
  • Must maintain professional appearance and wear approved uniform
  • Must complete required training (infection control, safety, etc.)
  • Must meet access requirements for a federal facility
  • Must pass required health screenings (TB test, vaccinations, etc.)
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS
  • This is a working supervisor role (not desk-based)
  • Must actively participate in cleaning duties daily
  • Must remain on-site during assigned work hours
  • Must ensure compliance with all facility and federal regulations
  • Must ensure proper handling of medical and hazardous waste
  • Must maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment
