Job description

Janitorial Operations Manager

General Job Description

The Operations Manager provides leadership across assigned job sites by supporting supervisors, guiding employees, and helping ensure nightly operations run smoothly, efficiently, and to company standards. This role is responsible for maintaining quality service, addressing issues proactively, supporting employee training and development, and partnering with leadership on performance management and operational success. Essential duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and support supervisors and team members across assigned job sites, providing direction, training, and accountability to maintain strong performance and service standards.
  • Oversee janitorial operations by monitoring site quality, resolving issues, coordinating staffing coverage, and ensuring locations run efficiently and meet client expectations.
  • Manage essential administrative and personnel responsibilities, including inspections, documentation, scheduling, timekeeping review, payroll submission, hiring support, and employee coaching.
  • Build strong client relationships by responding promptly to concerns, communicating updates, and helping ensure service expectations are consistently met.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify quality, reinforce company standards, and identify opportunities for improvement across assigned accounts.
  • Support efficient staffing and execution by coordinating schedules, following up on priorities, and helping supervisors stay organized and prepared for nightly operations.
  • Step in as needed to provide hands-on support at job sites and help ensure work is completed safely, consistently, and to company standards.

Additional Requirements

  • Supervisory or management experience with strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of janitorial or related service industry operations preferred
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel independently to assigned job sites

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to temperatures ranging from 0 to 90 degrees.
  • This role is physically active and requires manual dexterity, along with frequent lifting, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds repeatedly and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • The position may also require ladder use and the operation of mechanical equipment.
