Job description

Integrated Wound Care (IWC) is looking for a contract 1099 HR consultant to meet the objectives of a rapidly growing, multi-state, wound care organization. This position will be performed remotely. You'll undertake a wide range of HR tasks like enforcing company policies, handling employee termination, and consulting internal staff on employee laws and regulations.

The goal is to ensure that HR operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to Integrated Wound Care as a whole.

About the organization: IWC provides consultant-based wound healing services to skilled nursing, long term care, and rehabilitation facilities. IWC works with the nursing home staff and residents on a team approach to client care, including a focused exam on patient wound(s).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic form
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Employee Relations
  • Enhance job satisfaction by handling inquiries and resolving issues promptly

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment and labor laws across all states of operation
  • Serve as the organizational resource for HR policy interpretation and application
  • Support the COO in managing employee relations, and operational HR priorities
  • Administer and track employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and staff communications
  • Manage and resolve employee inquiries and concerns promptly, fostering a positive work environment

Licensing, Credentialing & Document Management

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date copies of all provider and staff licenses across all states of operation
  • Track license and certification expiration dates and coordinate timely renewals
  • Ensure multi-state credentialing requirements are met and documentation is organized and accessible
  • Maintain all employee and contractor files in electronic form, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Track required trainings, certifications, continuing education, and shadowing completions across the provider network
  • Coordinate and maintain documentation related to onboarding, including signed agreements, policy acknowledgments, and training attestations

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee and provider HR inquiries
  • Proactively identify and resolve employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion
  • Enhance job satisfaction and retention by promoting open communication and addressing concerns in a timely manner
  • Support performance management processes and documentation as needed
  • Assist in the development of employee engagement initiatives in alignment with IWC's organizational values
  • Conduct exit interviews

Mentorship of HR Recruitment Director

  • Provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to the HR Recruitment Director on core HR principles, policies, and procedures
  • Support the HR Recruitment Director in understanding and applying employment law in day-to-day recruitment and onboarding activities
  • Review and advise on HR-related documentation produced by the HR Recruitment Director to ensure compliance and consistency
  • Serve as an escalation point for HR questions and situations that arise within the recruitment function
  • Assist the HR Recruitment Director on an as-needed basis to ensure continuity and alignment with IWC's HR standards

Requirements

  • Previous experience in healthcare industry preferred
  • Multi-State HR experience; SNF or LTC strongly preferred but not required
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Self-motivated with ability to perform job remotely
  • Desire to work both independently and as a team with a results-driven approach
  • Candidate must reside in EST
  • Candidate must have their own laptop or personal computer and must have experience using microsoft teams and outlook
  • Must have 3-5 yrs experience handling multi-state licensing, FMLA, Workers Comp, and must be experienced in employee laws and regulations

Salary: $55-$65/Hourly depending upon experience

Work hours: 10-20 hrs per week; Max 28 hours a week
