  • Pre-K
    • 7:00am- 4pm
    • 9:30am- 6:30pm
  • Preschool A (3 year old)
    • 7:45am- 4:45pm

Job Summary
As a Lead Preschool Teacher at Ivy Kids, you will be responsible for planning and implementing the daily curriculum for children in your classroom while creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. You will oversee and coordinate the children’s personal care, hygiene, learning activities, specialized programs, and positive guidance while practicing and modeling Conscious Discipline throughout the classroom. Maintains classroom records and developmental checklists. Ensures that the classroom and other play areas are consistently clean and safe. Supervises and directs the activities of the assistant teacher assigned to the classroom. Keeps the director informed on a timely basis of pertinent issues regarding staff, children, families, and the program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Understands and complies with all Ivy Kids Brand standards & State Standards
General
  • Plans and implements the Ivy Kids curriculum activities
  • Keeps accurate and current records of each child’s developmental milestones, student accidents, anecdotal records, and attendance.
  • Ensure ASQs are conducted on time.
  • Has knowledge of state standards and the ability to follow Ivy Kids Critical Procedures.
  • Provides daily communication to parents via the parent app. 
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.
Interaction with Parents, Staff, and Director
  • Assists in training new staff and familiarizing them with program practices, forms, and schedules.
  • Observes, records, and reports to the director any significant behavior of children or staff that could adversely affect the quality of care provided
Health and Safety
  • Understands and implements all Critical procedures and infant care procedures.
  • Implements appropriate procedures in the event of an emergency
  • Administers CPR/First aid if needed
  • Properly maintains educational materials and equipment
  • Ensures all sanitization procedures are followed as regulated by childcare licensing
  • Keeps the classroom and other play areas safe, neat, and clean.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds.
  • Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents.
  • The lead teacher must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.
