About This RoleGreer First Preschool is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and highly motivated Kindergarten Teacher to lead our growing K5 program. As a Christ-centered preschool, we are committed to providing a loving, faith-filled environment where children develop academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who enjoys building and shaping a newer kindergarten program. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, flexible, and enthusiastic about partnering with families while creating an engaging classroom that prepares students for lifelong learning.
Our school year runs September- May and we follow the Greenville County School District's calendar during the school year. Staff hours are 8:00 AM- 1:30 PM, Monday- Friday.
What You'll Do- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate daily lessons aligned with kindergarten state learning standards.
- Foster a warm, safe, and Christ-centered classroom environment where every child feels loved and valued.
- Integrate biblical principles and age-appropriate Bible lessons into daily instruction and classroom interactions.
- Teach foundational literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, handwriting, and social-emotional skills.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs of each student.
- Assess student progress using formal and informal assessments and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming events.
- Create meaningful learning centers and hands-on activities that encourage exploration and critical thinking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom.
- Collaborate with the Preschool Director and fellow teachers to support school initiatives and foster program growth.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and family activities as requested.
- Supervise students during classroom instruction, recess, lunch, dismissal, and other school activities.
- Model Christian character, kindness, patience, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Help promote and strengthen the kindergarten program through excellence in teaching and positive relationships with families.
Requirements- South Carolina teaching certification is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience teaching kindergarten or early elementary students preferred.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development and kindergarten readiness skills.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
- Proficiency with basic technology used for lesson planning and parent communication.
- Must successfully complete all required background screenings.
- Must be physically able to actively supervise and engage with young children throughout the school day.
