Description:
This unit specializes in cardiac and medical care.
The unit functions as a true stepdown from the ICU.
Responsibilities include managing heart catheterization procedures, BiPAP, and cardiac and vasoactive drips.
Candidates should possess skills in telemetry, IV starts, and managing both cardiac and vasoactive drips.
Experience with BiPAP, high flow oxygen, and administration of various cardiac medications is required.
The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.
The staffing ratio is approximately 4 patients per nurse.
Candidates will be expected to perform a range of nursing duties including IV therapy, administering blood products, and monitoring patients in a telemetry setting.
Special procedures involve managing various medications and responding to cardiac crises.
The unit is fast-paced and requires a strong ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage emergency situations effectively.
Candidates should have experience in post-cardiac angiogram and pre/post-cardiac catheterization care.
