IU Hospitality infuses Indiana University's beautiful campus with vibrant life, creating a home away from home for visitors and the IU community alike. From our space in the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU), hospitality staff serve thousands of guests each year through professional dining and retail operations and catered events, conferences, and celebrations, keeping our spaces clean, our food tasty, and our customers happy.
IMU dining runs all dining operations in the Indiana Memorial Union, including the Tudor Room, Sugar and Spice, The Vault Pub, and the Globe. IMU dining staff work closely with the hotel and catering teams, as well as IU's retail dining, to embody the Hoosier spirit through every customer interaction.
IU Dining and Hospitality provides a dynamic work environment with a variety of events, from weddings, private events, fine dining, and casual.
Job Summary
The Indiana Memorial Union, the heart of the Indiana University Bloomington campus, is seeking enthusiastic, service-driven individuals to join our IMU Retail Dining team. Join us in bringing energy, flavor, and community to life across our retail concepts, Quarry Pie, Whitfield Grill, The Mix, The Globe, and The Lantern. As a team member, you'll gain valuable work experience in a fun, fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling and be part of a team that makes every guest's experience memorable.

Working Conditions / Demands
This position requires tasks typically associated with food service work. It involves periods of both sedentary work and times of frequent movement about the workspace. Using commercial kitchen equipment and tools, moving supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, and effective communication skills are necessary. The role requires the ability to detect items in close proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception. This role also will work indoors around both hot and cold temperatures and loud noises. This role involves handling meat and plant-based food products as well as a variety of ingredients that may include some or all of the top 9 allergens in the preparation of menu items and during the course of cleaning and ware-washing tasks. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
This position often requires employees to work evening, late night, and weekend shifts.
