Job description

Job Description The primary purpose of the Contract Specialist is to maintain the integrity of the item master while provide analytical support services to the Supply Chain team. Specific responsibilities include developing, managing and updating the contract repository, maintaining contracting database to include price loading into MMIS and other support systems. Analyzing data with standard statistical /financial methods to prepare accurate and comprehensive decision support data which includes cost analytics, usage data, forecasting, compliance reporting and a compilation of other significant data to assist Supply Chain in the decision making process.

Responsibilities MMIS Item Master Management Develop and maintain guidelines, policies, and procedures for Item Master content. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement enhancements to increase efficiency and data integrity. Create new agreements and maintain existing agreements within the MMIS Item Master.

Review daily Item Master add/change requests to ensure compliance with established guidelines and preserve the integrity of the Item Master, including: Preventing duplicate items Applying standardized nomenclature Ensuring contractual compliance Accurately assigning EOC and category codes Identify, document, and track non-contract item addition requests. Upload contract files into MMIS and other contract management databases with a high degree of accuracy. Review and resolve electronic order exceptions related to contract, pricing, packaging, and catalog number discrepancies.

Manage and maintain a system-wide contract repository, ensuring it remains current and inclusive of all GPO and UC Health local agreements. Oversee EDI trading partnerships, including data extraction and uploads into MMIS, and route discrepant information to the appropriate Supply Chain staff for resolution. Analytical Support Maintain a thorough understanding of UC Health's committed contracts.

Track, monitor, and report designated key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs). Proactively manage GPO and local contract files, providing advance notification to Supply Chain regarding contract renewals, expirations, and pricing changes. Perform complex contract analyses to validate Item Master changes and present findings to Supply Chain leadership and stakeholders.

Utilize GHX data to identify savings opportunities, trends, and process improvement initiatives. Maintain departmental dashboards and reporting tools. Manage and maintain a repository of savings documentation and contract-related analytics.

Provide data analysis, reporting, and metrics support to meet departmental performance and operational objectives. Qualifications Education Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Operations, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Statistics, or a related field. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business Operations, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.

Preferred Certification: Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP). Experience Minimum Required: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Preferred: 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.
