Reports to:
District Supervisor of World Languages and Building Principal
Description:
  • Teach Italian language courses at various levels as assigned
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with district curriculum, New Jersey Student Learning Standards for World Languages, and language proficiency guidelines
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes cultural understanding of Italian-speaking communities
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, projects, and proficiency-based assessments
  • Collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum development, vertical articulation, and world language initiatives
  • Participate in parent-teacher communications, department meetings, and school events as required
  • Incorporate technology and authentic resources to enhance language acquisition and cultural competency

Qualifications:
  • Must hold or be immediately eligible for NJDOE certification in World Languages, Italian (1530)
  • Previous teaching experience preferred. Retired teachers encouraged to apply.

Compensation:
Salary range is $311 to $340 per day, depending on level of experience and education. Contributory health benefits provided.
