Electronics Recycling Account Executive - ITAD - Base Salary to 75k/year - Saint Louis, MO

  • Our client, a growing electronics recycling and IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) company, is seeking an experienced Electronics Recycling Account Executive to develop new business and source used electronics, IT equipment, and surplus electronic assets from businesses, schools, retail chains, and other organizations. This is a new business development and hunter sales role requiring prior ITAD industry experience, knowledge of used electronics and IT hardware, and experience identifying equipment with resale, refurbishment, commodity, or recycling value.
  • The Electronics Recycling Account Executive will prospect for new accounts, identify sources of surplus technology assets, negotiate purchasing opportunities, and develop customer relationships that generate repeat business. The role operates Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, with approximately three days per week in the office focused on prospecting and account development and two days visiting customers and sites. The territory is generally within day-trip distance of St. Louis, MO. A company vehicle is available, and fuel and approved travel expenses are provided. This position reports to the Electronics Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business and establish accounts with companies, schools, retail chains, and other organizations with surplus electronics, IT equipment, and technology assets.
  • Prospect for new customers through outbound calls, email, networking, referrals, lead generation, and customer site visits.
  • Identify and source used electronics, IT hardware, electronic assets, and recoverable commodities for refurbishment, remarketing, resale, and responsible recycling.
  • Evaluate electronic equipment for potential resale, commodity, refurbishment, and recycling value and negotiate purchasing agreements.
  • Source electronic assets including laptops, desktops, computers, servers, mobile devices, networking equipment, solar panels, self-checkout equipment, circuit boards, and other technology equipment with recoverable components.
  • Develop customer accounts that generate repeat electronics purchasing, IT asset recovery, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Monitor used electronics, IT equipment, commodity, and resale market values to identify purchasing opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Electronics Manager and operations team regarding purchased electronics, equipment quality, and processing requirements.
  • Conduct customer and prospect site visits throughout the assigned territory.
  • Maintain customer, prospect, account, and sales activity information in CRM and related systems.

Qualifications:

  • Prior ITAD (IT Asset Disposition) industry experience.
  • Experience with new business development, prospecting, account development, and customer acquisition.
  • Experience buying and/or sourcing used electronics, IT equipment, or electronic assets.
  • Knowledge of used electronics and IT hardware, including the ability to identify equipment with resale, refurbishment, commodity, or recycling value.
  • Experience identifying potential sources of electronic equipment and developing new customer accounts.
  • Experience negotiating purchases, pricing, or agreements involving used electronics, IT equipment, or electronic assets.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory for customer and site visits.

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 65k - 75k/year range
  • Quarterly incentives are based on company/team performance; successful employees typically earn approximately 15k/year in additional incentives, bringing potential total compensation to approximately 90k/year.
