Job description

POSITION: IT intern DIVISION: Technology and Operations - IT REPORTS TO: WXXI IT Director CLASSIFICATION: Nonexempt PAY: $16.00 per hour This internship will allow you to take the technical skills you have learned in the classroom and put them to the test in a real-world environment. We seek a motivated and self-driven Information Technology (IT) Intern to join our team. The IT Intern will support our in-house IT department in providing technical assistance, maintaining computer systems, and configuring hardware and software

The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and assist with implementing new technologies. As an intern, you will spend the first few weeks with our IT Staff, learning and familiarizing yourself with our procedures, software, hardware, and how these IT systems are integrated into a Broadcast Station. After that, prepare to assist our IT Staff with troubleshooting and solving PC support requests, get hands-on experience Under IT staff guidance, performing computer imaging, building, staging, and deployment.

Learn about audio automation systems for radio and audio over IP. Get practical experience in diagnosing and resolving network issues. Work with servers, email configurations, VOIP phones, printers, and computers, both physical and virtual machines.

Under the guidance of a supervisor, you'll be able to troubleshoot and resolve PC support requests, build and deploy a PC or laptop for one of our employees, and solve software issues and other IT challenges as they arise. Responsibilities Provide technical assistance to staff and customers on hardware and software-related issues. Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and software.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues. Follow established procedures and processes for computer maintenance. Provide training and support to staff members in the use of computer systems and software.

Perform system backups and maintain accurate records. Research and recommend solutions for technical problems. Submit a final written report/evaluation after the internship.
