We are hiring for our client an experienced and hands-on IT Director to lead the organization's technology strategy, infrastructure, and software development initiatives. The ideal candidate is a technical leader who combines strategic planning with the ability to actively participate in network architecture, systems administration, cybersecurity, and application development. This role requires a leader who can mentor technical teams while remaining directly involved in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex technology solutions. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy aligned with business objectives. Lead and manage IT operations, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and software development teams. Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructure. Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and cloud connectivity. Participate in software design, coding, code reviews, and application architecture when required. Oversee system administration, server management, virtualization, cloud services, and disaster recovery planning. Establish and enforce IT security policies, compliance standards, and best practices. Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, licensing, and technology procurement. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency. Develop IT policies, documentation, and standard operating procedures. Lead infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, system integrations, and digital transformation initiatives. Provide executive leadership with technology recommendations, risk assessments, and project updates. Mentor and develop IT staff while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Respond to critical incidents and provide hands-on technical support during high-priority outages or emergencies. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibilities. Proven experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure and technical teams. Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies. Demonstrated coding experience in one or more programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, or similar. Experience with database technologies including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle. Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration. Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V. Experience administering cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, identity management, endpoint security, and backup/recovery solutions. Experience leading technology projects from planning through implementation. Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
