IT Support Technician

Hazelett Corporation is a global leader in continuous metal casting technology. Our strip-casting machines integrate mechanical, electrical, thermal, and automation systems to produce materials used in automotive structural components, aluminum foil, lead-acid batteries, and copper wiring. Our machines are known for their robust design, high productivity, and energy efficiency. We design, manufacture, and assemble our machines in-house and are committed to fostering the development and long-term growth of our employees.


Position Overview

Hazelett is seeking an IT Support Technician to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you'll provide day-to-day technical support for employees across the organization, ensuring our technology systems remain reliable, secure, and efficient.

You'll be the first point of contact for IT support, assisting with desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, business applications, and other technology systems. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, delivering excellent customer service, and working in a collaborative manufacturing environment where no two days are the same.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee IT support requests.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, mobile device, and workstation issues.
  • Configure, install, and deploy new computers, peripherals, and software.
  • Support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and related business applications.
  • Assist with user account administration, permissions, and access management.
  • Document technical solutions, procedures, and system configurations.
  • Assist with system backups and data recovery processes.
  • Test new software releases and recommend improvements.
  • Follow IT security policies and help maintain a secure technology environment.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when appropriate.
  • Provide outstanding customer service while supporting employees throughout the organization.
Requirements:

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Experience providing technical support in an IT support or help desk environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • A customer-focused attitude and commitment to providing exceptional service.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends when required.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

EDUCATION

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and two years of relevant experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
